Re: nose block question
The way Guillow's makes and shows how to build the front end works to a limited degree. For a sport flyer (schoolyard) it is marginally adequate.
I make my front end removable so I can stretch wind the motor. In competition I will get nearly 2000 turns on a motor. The removable front end allows me access and has room for that rubber to fit into the model. I then replace the front end nose block and it is very secure and adjustable, as the proper angle of the prop will be down and to the right to give the plane the proper angle of attack and to counter the turning effect from the turning prop.
I can post pictures latter but need to leave for work now. Mitch
