300 series kits
I have built many Guillows kits and I am now working on my first 300 series kit. Guillows should really take a look at how the wings are attached. Most kits have a middle saddle or section and sit over the fuslage. I have had to do a lot of redesign to get the wing strong enough for flight. Also they should take a look at the mold for all plastic cowls , none of them fit properly. But Guillows kits are my favorit and easy to build kits, they just need a little improvements.

I agree with you Andy. Especially the Cessna 150 seems to have a very week wing conection. Since I reduce the size of the plans I can't really say much about the plastic parts. I think the wings should have rubber band hold downs.

Re: 300 series kits
A little reinforcement of the cabin pillars done by laminating stringers helps a good bit, as well as solid wing struts. I've been laminating wire into the fuse end of the wing struts, with a number of nicks placed on the wire for solid gluing, along with adding a bit of balsa in the fuse for the wires to glue into. I imagine it's probably more difficult for rubber flyers however, as it's not exactly as if you have control over the landings, unless the model responds to telepathy, or maybe yelling at it, etc...

Widdog has one of the best flying 170's I have seen. Most do not fly very well if at all. Good Job

Thanks Andy, Always good to hear from a fellow rubber power free flight flyer. That model crashed out and broke right were the wing connects to the fuselage. I am very interested in trying to improve that weak area. I am thinking rubber band tie held wings.
