The texture, finish and paintwork are first class! I’ve read a bit about Macon and Akron and the parasite fighters. Very interesting (also tragic) story. It still reads like science fiction from the past.

I agree - War of the Worlds was unleashed on the unsuspecting US radio audiences around the same time. The idea of these massive dirigibles with their own onboard fighter escort is fascinating. Seems Hollywood made a relatively recent movie featuring airships and a P-40 among other things if memory serves..

Glad you like it - the project was interesting and the plane itself in its prewar colors is a Golden Age beauty

Beautifully built model. What engine cylinders did you use and are they still avaiable?

NavyADI - yes they can be found. It's actually a dummy motor kit from Williams Brothers. The Wasp 1/12 scale kit has the engine crankcase and all 9 cylinders.
Williams Brothers has ceased production since the covid outbreak (they're in Texas) but I found a handful of them in stock at various online sites. Try www.soloprops.com
