Thanks. Wow if that hellcat is brushed, you did an amazing job. It looks sprayed. I'll give a try on a Spitfire I am building.
Hmm...it worked in the movies.

This kit flies great with no modifications. Just replace the kit rubber. Covering takes practice, just build and cover everything you start. A lot of people don't like to cover, so they build and stop. Then onto the next project. Their building skills improve while the covering stays the same.

well, ive been doing this for only four years and i am young. my best plane was a supermarine spitfire from the guillows kits.

first i like to cut the tisue to size, then i take elmers glue and strait from the bottle put it on the fraims. i then put the tissue on and then i take nasle spray, or salt water (which is in a presurized can for easy aplication) and it shrinks tight, but i tried this process on a dumas kit and the tissue just isnt as nice so it made it harder. i like non toxic ways to do this because my room has some what poor venilation.

Could we have some detail on the jig you use? At what stage do you use it and what does it do for you? Thanks

Hello all. I am also building a Hellcat for flying. All framework is completed, And weighs 18g.

*no hijack intended* I didn't want to start a new topic all together, so I decided to include it in a previous build of the same plane.

She is a good flyer with the kit wood, but I bet she is even a better flyer with the laser cut parts.

I have finished the build and its ready to fly. It weighs quite heavy, 35g. But I still hope it should fly. After I am done flying it, I hope to convert it to a display piece.

Thanks, R and David. I thought Hellcat would be a good flier because of its large-ish wing area.
BTW I ditched the kit rubber and am using 1/8" rubber from AC supply.
